Inspiring architectural ambling

17th July 2025

What a treat - like a holiday in your own city - to visit the shortlisted schemes for Leeds Architecture Awards which I'm delighted to be hosting in November.

It was a fascinating, inspiring and eye opening couple of days with the excellent judges Prue Chiles, Mark Latham and Martin Farrington. We got through some shoe leather too, with the rain giving everyone a break for vital wandering and deliberation in Leeds city centre and the suburbs.

From social housing to high rise student flats, from old buildings adapted for a new life to dynamic art in the urban landscape, there's so much to be proud of.

Really looking forward to returning to Howard Assembly Room with Leeds City Council, Leeds Civic Trust, RIBA and Leeds Society of Architects.

It's been my pleasure to host the awards on a number of occasions now and I'm chuffed to have been invited back,
