A joyful radio return, celebrating with Leeds United

Well what a joy it was to be back on air at BBC Radio Leeds! A fabulous afternoon for Leeds and Leeds United ⚽️

This was an inspiring, noisy, joy filled Premier League promotion party with open topped buses and an impressive - and a truly staggering - 150 thousand jubilant folk out celebrating 🏆

I was asked to host a special, live programme from 1 to 3pm in the studio, while a brilliant team of sports commentators and reporters brought listeners live updates from the route of the parade in Leeds city centre.

It’s the sort of radio I love most - no script, reacting to whatever happens (or doesn’t happen) and filling in the gaps when the mobile broadcasting signals from our team on the ground disappeared into the ether! A thrilling, joyful afternoon.
